About Me

Person in a blue top taking a selfie against a tiled wall backdrop.

I’m a Human Factors grad student, science educator, and lifelong curious mind.

While completing a M.S. in Human Factors at Embry-Riddle, I also get to do one of my favorite things: teach. I lead lab instruction for college-level courses in microbiology and molecular biology. Nothing beats the moment when something “clicks” for a student.

My background is in Aerospace Physiology, but I’ve always been drawn to the human side of science; how people learn, how we interact with systems, and how to make complicated stuff feel a little more approachable.

Outside of teaching, I’ve been involved in research on everything from space microbiology to immune responses in microgravity, and I’ve co-authored a few papers along the way. I like projects that ask good questions and push boundaries, especially when they have real-world impact.

At the end of the day, I’m just someone who loves science, loves people, and wants to help connect the two in meaningful ways.

Mak Facts

  • I’m a collegiate ice hockey stats keeper (D2, D3)

  • Favorite study playlist: somewhere between hard rock and cinematic space vibes.

  • I’m an aviation photographer. Nothing like catching a perfect shot of a low pass

  • I’ve lost sleep (happily) for rocket launches. Ask me my favorite; I dare you.

  • Caffeine enthusiast. Will teach molecular biology in exchange for cold brew.
